About Bender Setup Window Correction Mapping Adds Flexibility to Corrections

Use correction mapping in Bender Setup to move corrections up or down columns and to ignore specific corrections.

This ability is important for certain styles of benders - like SOCO, COMCO, and BendPro - because some users prefer to not use the teach mode to create avoidance moves. This ability allows the corrections to skip data that is used for extra moves or avoidance moves.

Each column of adjustments now has their own color-coded Map column.

  • Yellow indicates that the adjustments were pushed down one row from the cell and downward in the grid.
  • Red indicates that a correction is ignored.
  • Pink indicates the the corrections are pulled up one row from the bottom of the grid.
  • Green indicates that the correction is used.

The Correction Mapping values are stored in the project files and recalled automatically when the project is loaded.

How to Change Correction Maps

Each Map cell has a dropdown control with choices for controlling the corrections value to its right.

Click on the map three times to choose from the list.

The map choices are applied to the correction values only.

Before and After Examples

This screenshot shows before any special mapping is activated.

Check.jpgExample of Skipping a Row for An Avoidance Move

This is an example of how to skip a row for an avoidance move at the bender.

This grid shows the bender data before the OMCG wire bender adds an extra row.

The operator programmed an avoidance move in row 3 at the OMCG bender.

You press the RECALL LRA to get the changes.

VTube-LASER sees the change as an extra row and asks for permission to add the extra row. Allow it to add the row.

You can see new data in row 3. The rest of the rows are pushed down by the bender. VTube-LASER adds a straight in the Adjust Row Count value.

However, now there are adjustments that are being applied to the extra row - which is not correct. For example see 0.042" for the feed and 0.5 degrees for the bend.

Use the Push Down map option to push the correction values down one row so that they apply to the correct values again.

VTube-LASER will store this setup in the project from this point forward.

Check.jpgMoving Blue Column Data Up or Down

VTube-LASER also has popup menus to allow you to move the BLUE column data up or down. This lets you move any data to its proper row before bender setup.

STEP 1

For example, to push data down, you may need to add an extra STRAIGHT by entering he new straight count and pressing Set Count.

This is important in cases where you want the bend count to match the bender's added row. (In this example, we change 7 straights to 8 straights.)

STEP 2

Click on the cell of the Blue column data that you want to push down then right click then choose push the data down.

In some cases you may need to push all three columns down. We know if some cases (like on COMCO benders in Gripper mode) where only the LENGTH value should be pushed down.

STEP 3

All the values are pushed down. The original value in cell 3 is left as it was.

STEP 4

Depending on your setup, you may need to set the original value to ZERO like this.
