Automated Layout Transfers to AutoCAD
TubeCAD can send data to AutoCAD automatically. This means it can load AutoCAD, then load the DXF file automatically. Older versions of TubeCAD would always build the DXF and script files for AutoCAD in the ACAD.EXE folder. This worked in Windows XP, but can present problems in Windows 7 or newer.
The reason is that Windows 7 or newer, by default, make that folder read-only to TubeCAD. This setup will allow AutoCAD to load, but will report errors loading the imported layout and will show a blank screen. If you see this behavior, then the issue is probably an invalid DXF Build Location path in TubeCAD.
The way to fix this problem is to allow TubeCAD to store the DXF data in folders where read-write are allowed for the user logged into the current Windows session.
TubeCAD Options Menu
The DXF Build Location can be setup in the options menu. The options menu can be loaded by right-clicking on the viewport in TubeCAD. Then choose "options".

The DXF Build Location is where all temporary DXF files are built, and where all manual DXF files start in a save dialog.
The path assigned by TubeCAD for building DXF files is supposed to allow read-write of files per the rules used by Windows. Edit the DXF Build Location path in this window:
This path is persistent. That is, it will be remembered for the next session of TubeCAD - even if you clear the layout or close TubeCAD. (The version released November 12, 2013 fixed a problem where TubeCAD would not remember this path.)
If this path does not work for building DXF files, then you can choose another build location.
