CHANGES to CNC BENDER

Check.jpg Conditional Carriage Cross Slide RETRACT - Only if Clamp is Home

If the clamp is closed, then carriage sliding AWAY from the dies is overridden.

The original command was inserted like this:

AllCrossSlidesAdvance = cto:6000

The new logic checks for both clamp and pressure die open before it will allow for the carriage to cross slide. If either of these dies is not fully retracted, the AllCrossSlideHome is skipped:

[IF] AND, input=Input_ClampIsHome_Begin, input=Input_PressureDieIsHome_Begin
  [DISPLAY] Next Step: (Center Carriage) Home All Cross Slides
  AllCrossSlidesHome = cto:6000
  [DISPLAY] Completed: (Center Carriage) Home All Cross Slides
[END]

This new logic allows for option combinations that were not possible before. For example, RECAPTURE and FEED AWAY FROM DIES can now be enabled together.

Check.jpg Changed a Range Error Message for Clarity

A range error message was changed by adding the RADIUS CHANGE information to help users find a solution this problem:

CHANGES to CNC PROCESSOR

CNC Processor is the program that directly controls the bender actuators.

Check.jpg Disallow Jog Queuing When in Cycle Hold Mode

CNC Bender no longer allows an operator to jog any axis or actuator if the Cycle Hold button is pressed. This mode is slightly different than Safe Mode Cycle Hold, where the safety scanner area is entered. When the safety scanner or mat is activated, the machine changes to a near Zero Energy State state.

Cycle Hold without stepping on the mat or safety scanner acts as a pause button without changing the bender into safe mode.

Immediate Message

Range Error - According to the RADIUS CHANGE Interference Zone value in the TOOL page the Cross Slide Would Have Collided With The Pressure Die. If this is not the case, then adjust the RADIUS CHANGE Interference Zone value.

Gear warning.jpg SAFETY NOTE

Do not work in a bending machine when it is in regular Cycle Hold mode!

In regular Cycle Hold, the bender pauses, but all axes stay energized.

If the machine is power on and not in Safe Mode Cycle Hold, then it is critical to keep hands out of the working area of the machine. Always press the E-stop before working on the machine.

Check.jpg Reduced CPU Usage When Idle

Cncbender cpuusage.jpg

CNC Processor required expanded CPU usage when the bender was powered down or in manual mode. This had an effect of slowing the CNC Bender user interface.

Starting with this version, CNC Processor automatically reduces the load on the CPU when in either of these modes.

How to UPGRADE

CNC Bender User Interface for ProControl

If your operator station contains one of the versions listed below, then they can be upgraded through simple self-installation:
