“RS” refers to “ROMER Scanner”

1. The RS1 scanner requires RDS 4.0 or 4.1 – but not newer.
2. RDS 4.2.0 or newer should be used for scanner versions RS2, RS3, RS4, and RS5
3. RDS 4.2.1 is tested and works well.
4. RDS 4.2.2 is tested and works well.
5. RDS 4.2.3 has issues with unloading itself and sluggish performance. Please do not use this one.

According to HEXAGON, VTube-LASER can support any scanner supported by RDS directly, including...

All ball probe systems on devices that run through RDS are compatible with VTube-LASER.

RDS 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 work well. v4.2.2 has anti-outlier (anti-flyer) algorithms for highly reflective surfaces.

We do not recommend RDS 4.2.3 because it has an issue that causes it to unload regularly, and it is very sluggish compared to the earlier versions.
