This is software that calculates overbend necessary to overcome springback in bends.

THE FORMULA

Overbend Calculator uses a formula that takes into account a FIXED amount of springback for any degree of bend. The fixed portion of the formula, for example, allows Overbend Calculator to add the SAME amount of overbend angle to every bend, regardless of its angle. Also, the Overbend Calculator formula takes into account a PROPORTIONAL amount of springback at any degree of bend. The proportional portion of the formula, for example, allows Overbend to add INCREASING amounts of overbend angle to bend angles as they also increase in degree of bend. You may ask, "how am I supposed to figure the values for these two variables in the overbend formula?" With this calculator, you don't have to! Overbend Calculator derives the variables for you automatically from two simple test bends using your CNC bender.

It is included with software packages like CNC Bender and Benderlink for SolidWorks.
