Check.jpgNEW - SCP Feature (Stripe Cut Plane) - Eliminates LASER Stripe Data That Is Too Far From the Probe

The new STRIPE CUT PLANE feature is designed to eliminate entire laser stripes of data that are too far from the probe. It is included in the CUT PLANE CONTROL Window.

This is helpful for smaller parts because the scanners have an active depth range that allows them to pick up stripes that are within a 127mm (5 inch) inch range top to bottom.

The goal of the SCP feature is to ensure that the scanner does not accidentally catch any object in a stripe that is far away from the first diameter relative to the probe - even when it stops pickup up near data. (See the image on the right.)

This is how SCP works with the other cut plane features:

  • FIRST, the CUT PLANE feature removes any laser-scanned surface data found below standard cut planes that are active.

  • SECOND, the DCP (DIAMETER CUT PLANE) feature removes the tails of laser-scanned stripes.

  • THIRD, the SCP (STRIPE CUT PLANE) feature then removes any laser-scanned stripe that is too far from the probe relative to the closest stripe to the probe.

Just like other cut plane features, the SCP feature is not used during tactile measurements with the ball probe.

Check.jpgNEW - VTUBE-STEP MODE AUTOMATIC NEGATIVE STRAIGHT FIX DURING PARAMETRIC REBUILD

(Note: VTube-STEP is included in the VTube-LASER license. It is used for importing model data.)

Models with a 180-degree or greater bend angles can often create a very small negative straight distance value. We've added this feature to allow you to detect and fix this situation automatically by injecting a value of zero where there are negative straights.

Pressing YES will change the shape of the part. However, if the negative straight is very small, then changing the shape will have no significance and will create a part that is close enough to the nominal to still be a good shape for use as MASTER data.

This feature also allows you to skip the fix by pressing "NO." If you do this, then you can still manually adjust the radii to smaller values after the rebuild. Of course, if you skip this fix, then VTube may have trouble generating the diameter - and may even generate and display a program error that you can usually bypass.

Check.jpgFIX- CONSTRUCT TUBE FEATURE WORKS AGAIN

A customer discovered that the Construct Tube feature was not working in the previous version due to changes in the measuring code logic.

We fixed the broken code in this version.

Check.jpgFIX- VTUBE-STEP MODE COLLECTION SELECTION ISSUE

(Note: VTube-STEP is included in the VTube-LASER license. It is used for importing model data.)

We found issues with the collected objects in VTube-STEP mode.

  • For example, the selected collected object (see the orange object) would never delete from the screen - even if the operator selected it and pressed delete.

  • This issue could cause index errors in the Collection Features list memory displayed in the grid.

  • The Collection Features Grid would not update automatically after a delete of the models on the screen.

All of these issues have been fixed.

Check.jpgOTHER CHANGES

  • VTube-LASER will stop a Construct Tube process with ROMER arms if the LASER mode is active. It will also issue a warning to turn the LASER off.
