This article shows how to build a STEP file from VTube-LASER.

STEP 1 - Switch On the Correct Model in the Viewport

There are several models that can be turned on in the viewport. Remember that whatever surface model is displayed in the viewport will be in the STEP file that you export. This includes the envelope and scanned data.

In this example, we are going to display on the MASTER model before exporting.

Press F2 and then F3 after selecting the model to redraw the model.

STEP 2 - ENTER the DATA HANDLING Menu

Enter the Data Handling menu.

Click on the File Data tab menu.

Click on "Export Viewport Model to STEP File".

STEP 3 - PRESS the "Export to STEP" BUTTON

Set the options that you want in the two check boxes, then press the "Export to STEP" button.

STEP 4 - Choose the Export Path in the Path Manager

Either...

  1. Click on the path and press the "Use Path Selected" button for the export path.

  2. Or double click on the path you want to use for exporting.

  3. Or you can "Continue with No Selection" to use the Windows dialog starting in the default VTube folder.

STEP 5 - Choose the Filename and Press the Save Button

The filename will be suggested from the Part Number. You can change it if you want to, then press Enter on the keyboard or press the Save button with the mouse.
