CNC Bender can now start a bend cycle from SAFE-MODE CYCLE-HOLD by the single press of the run buttons.

This feature requires that the LEFT AND RIGHT RUN buttons be tied to the CYCLE START button electronically.

How the feature works when loading a part

  1. The operator steps on the safety mat to load the part into the chuck.
  2. CNC Bender enters SAFE-MODE CYCLE-HOLD. This means that all axes are disabled and the hydraulic safety valve is closed.
  3. The operator loads part into the chuck and presses any chuck close button (physical or screen). The chuck closes.
  4. The operator steps off the safety-mat then presses the run buttons together for at least 1 second.
  5. CNC Processor receives notification from CNC Bender that the operator pressed the run buttons while the bender was in safe-mode cycle-hold. CNC Processor stores this information.
  6. Since the run buttons are tied to the cycle start button, the bender changes from safe-mode cycle-hold to cycle-start mode and enables all axes.
  7. CNC Processor continues to step through the process list commands. When the processor arrives at the ButtonsRunPressed command, the command will recognize that the run buttons have already been pressed, then move on to the rest of the process list without stopping.

How the feature works when unloading a part

  1. The bender is setup so that all dies open at the end of the part cycle. The bend arm remains in its final bend position.
  2. The operator steps on the safety mat to remove the part from the bender.
  3. CNC Bender enters SAFE-MODE CYCLE-HOLD. This means that all axes are disabled and the hydraulic safety valve is closed.
  4. The operator removes the part from the bender.
  5. The operator steps off the safety-mat then presses the run buttons together OR the RELEASE button for at least 1 second.
  6. CNC Processor receives notification from CNC Bender that the operator pressed the run buttons or the release button while the bender was in safe-mode cycle-hold. CNC Processor stores this information.
  7. Since the run buttons are tied to the cycle start button, the bender changes from safe-mode cycle-hold to cycle-start mode and enables all axes.
  8. CNC Processor continues to step through the process list commands. When the processor arrives at the IlluminateReleaseButtonUntilPressed command, the command will recognize that the RELEASE button has already been pressed, then move on to start the next bend cycle.
